All change here at Pinnock Towers
The last year and a half has been tough for everyone and it has taken it’s toll in many different ways. Some have lost their jobs or businesses, some have lost their sanity (assuming we had any to start with) and even though everything stopped for me in March 2020 I actually feel the last 18 months have done me a favour.
Always one to see the positive in everything, I have to say it has been a challenge and I have struggled. My mental health (current buzz words) has been challenged just like everyone else, with good moments and bad. Couple that with my time of life (middleaged woman) and I think you get a picture of where I’m at.
However I embraced the lockdown as a new challenge and tried to see it as an opportune moment to change everything. I was looking to change the way I worked anyway, with massage taking more of a back seat, making a gradual transition over the next few years, but Boris forced my hand so I made the leap. And to be honest, left to my own devices it might well have taken a lot longer or not really happened at all, so for that I’m thankful. So what’s changed?
First, hands on massage stopped, so I made the huge decision not to go back to it when everything returns to normal. Instead like a lot of therapists I took my work online, offering short well being sessions for companies incorporating acupressure, self massage, breathing, stretching and relaxation. General tips on keeping healthy while working at your desk, be that at home or in the office. I also went back to my roots, aromatherapy, and have developed a bespoke, hand made skin care range that’s simple, natural and affordable for those who care about what they put on their bodies. And I finally completed my nutritional healing qualification after 6 years of study (probably my highlight of 2020) which means I now offer 1-1 sessions and group workshops about the fundamentals of good nutrition.
So what’s for the future? Well, the name’s changed, from Vital Force Massage to Vital Force Naturals. That seems to cover everything that I might do! (What do you think?) Developing the skincare further, and I’m currently working on short videos for each aspect of the business that will be uploaded to YouTube that you can access for free and to subscribe to, depending on your level of interest. About all things good and healthy. Exciting stuff. Watch this space
